What each seal means
A seal is not the same as the body that issues it, nor is a certification the same as a membership. This is how the ones that accompany IBSINA break down:
European Union Organic Production
The euro-leaf identifies products that comply with Regulation (EU) 2018/848, the rule governing organic production in the European Union: origin of raw materials, permitted production methods, controls and labelling. In our case, the certification is issued by CCPAE.
CCPAE, the certifying body
The Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica is the control authority for organic production in Catalonia. It is not a product seal: it is the body that audits, verifies and authorises the use of the European organic certification.
BioVidaSana, certified by bio.inspecta
BioVidaSana is the natural and organic cosmetics standard of the Asociación Vida Sana: it sets which ingredients are accepted, which processes and which percentages. Inspection and issuing of the certificate are carried out by bio.inspecta, an independent inspection and certification body.
ISO 9001:2015
International standard for quality management systems. It certifies how the company works — documented processes, supplier control, traceability, incident management and continuous improvement — rather than any specific product in the catalogue.
ISO 14001:2015
International environmental management standard. It certifies that the organisation identifies and controls the environmental impact of its activity: resource consumption, waste, compliance with applicable legislation and improvement targets.
IFEAT and PLMA, industry memberships
These are not certifications: they are associations we belong to. IFEAT brings together the international essential oils and aroma trades, and PLMA groups private label manufacturers. Both provide access to industry regulation, sourcing contacts and trade fairs.
